What a burning shame ! Those doctors are going against all the rules… They show that they’re nothing more than a bunch of third-world individuals without any moral values. It’s shocking that nobody tried to prevent this insanity. Shame on them. Shame on Thailand

Thanks to Bkkdreamer in the comments, Matichon have now updated the original (without a correction of course) as Anupong went on TV this morning to deny he had met Prem yesterday. Today's lead article on the Matichon website is that Anupong went to see Prem at his residence yesterday at 8am to update him on the situation. He left around 9:30am At 2pm, Anupong as head of a committee monitoring the situation (คณะกรรมการติดตามสถานการณ์ร่วม - I assume a committee established under the Internal Security Act) called a meeting attending by various persons including Panitan (of Chula) and forensic doctor Porntip, legal experts, academics, police and doctors for a meeting that lasted three and a half hours. During the meeting the Permanent Secretary of Education reported that during the night of October 7, persons placed incendiary devices throughout the Ministry and it is believed it was to cause a fire and create a situation. Security agencies confirmed that the PAD wanted to burn the city (เผาเมือง) in order to force the military out to stage a coup and discredit the government. Therefore, it is necessary for all 3 branches of the military to look after government offices as a third party could create a situation. A source at the meeting states that Anupong said "I don't care who is the government, it is not related to us. This government will go, another one will replace it, but the military will remain neutral and protect the country... because if any incendiary device explosives...

According to Matichon , Sondhi L has set aside 100 million baht to take PM Somchai and associated officials to the International Criminal Court in the Hague. He states he is confident the case will proceed. He says it will take 6 months to one years to prepare the case. BP: How about a deal? If Somchai wins Sondhi L goes home In the meantime, we await to see whether the ICC will accept jurisdiction over the case. The chances are a big fat zero.

There ARE troops on the streets of Bangkok, and here's the proof thanks to a very courteous taxi driver on this morning's trip to the office. Seeing my camera poised for action he took a slightly different route that involved passing this line of troops that were guarding one of Bangkok's horse racing stadiums. I believe the compound in front of the stadium is being used as some kind of staging post for the Royal Thai Police, given its proximity to the location of the anti-Government demonstrations. Another location close by had similar ranks of Navy personnel standing watch and looking very bored. Sadly the taxi was going a little too fast for me to get a decent image of them, however these were the only two places on trip to the office where you'd notice anything out of the ordinary. Bangkok remains a largely safe city and it's very much business as usual for the vast majority of people. Posted by The Bangkok Bugle
