Well said. This is really my point. It is not about religion, money or anything. We have created this issue in so many ways and it is our duty to clean this mess up. As it is our duty to clean up the situation in Iraq.
The issue is again who gave someone else the right to more or less take over the Palestinians land possession in the wake of WWII. No one had that right in my eyes. Wouldn't you be slightly upset if someone else just decides that it is not your land? I do think part of the problem is to realize that we in the Western World created a situation where this could happen not saying violent actions therefore are rightfully. In fact they are far from it.
It is convenient to think that it is their differences alone that is the issue.
I think the key is not who was there first at all. What I am questioning is how the Western World decided that the Jews should have that land based on the actions by Germany during WWII. Who gives us the right to decide about other completely legal territories? It is just absurd. I am very aware of the history here, but it is only applicable to some extent here. The main issue remains. The Western World created this mess on their own.
I do not agree or approve of any violent actions but the frustration of an outside party deciding that the land you are living is all of a sudden decided do not belong to you. Not based on any of your actions but by a third party. Isn't that weird?
Basically what I meant is this. Before you expanded at all in the comment field and before I know anything about your position besides this post i will base your argument on that you pose the question: "Which one is elitist again?" and then a few numbers about whet Obama and McCain own to support that McCain should be "more" elitistic than Obama. Based on that information the point is not very justified
However, I do agree that when you expanded on the answer your position makes more sense. However the key here is that the initial provided information is that weak that the point becomes rather unfair as it is not supporting it at all. I believe being a bit more robust when putting forward such thoughts is better. :-)
Sure, it might be splitting ends, but I still think it is an important part of argumentation to be fair and juste with the support for it. I think there is something we all should think of not to judge before having the proof for it. :-)
What I am opposed in seeing is comments based on non-supporting facts. By making those arguments you just feed into the culture of throwing arbitrary comments without support causing the real intention of the comment to be smeared.
As for the question you raised, I think the election in itself is nothing really exciting. It is more of a yawn. The difference between the two candidates is pretty small...
What I am disputing is your argument. Your title is "Which one is elitist again?" together with your argument makes no sense.
As for Obama I do not agree with you there. Sure, he is much softer in appearance than McCain for sure. Is he less of an elitist? I doubt that. I'm sorry, but I do not think Obama is a sugarcoated as everyone claim or think he is. Some of his argument is a pretty crippled. "Let us close the boarder but we should be more open." Hmm, make very little sense. We should all know that protectionism has proven unsuccessful throughout history. Maybe take a look at France through history. They nearly went under when they tried it. We live in a global society. We should just realize that.
Another example is his unbelievable comment to support bombings of Pakistan. Hmm. Haven't we all seen this to be a non working solution? The war on terror rushes on and we probably are creating more terrorists than ever and still we do not learn from it. The danger here lies in that Obama is less transparent about his views. At least you know what you get with McCain. He is all for it, but you do not have to guess at least. I wouldn't say anyone is better here though.
Nevertheless, I think the discussion should be bigger than whether a person is an elitist or not. It seems to me that most of the time the campaigns ending up only discussion what the other campaign is saying and not really addressing the real issues.
You are confusing elitism with something else. I am not sure owning a lot of stuff makes you an elitist per se. Eliitism is about thinking you are better than others and is part of an outstanding part of the society, which clearly has nothing to do with how much you own. At least you cannot make a direct comparison. Maybe take a look at this link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elitism
It feels like your argumentation is pretty crippled here.
This is actually pretty funny. :-) The pageant video is just priceless and a true example of the bimbo culture. Admittingly, she might have bee stressed, but I have seen this other video from Are you smarter than a 10 year old with some country singer. I still laugh in a sad way at it.
Yeah it is a very sad and upsetting story, especially considering three innocent kids are caught in the crossfire. All around the world today, we have these total disregard of personal integrity and privacy. We are willing to trade anything for the hope of false security.
Striking Iran's nuclear facility just sounds like a very bad idea. I sure hope this dude doesn't win... Especially if that just feeds into the spiral of violence.

Well it is about time the US realizes that decreasing the demand for oil is the only sustainable way.

It seems as all sense of proportionality is lost!
