A personal reflection is that we are maybe seeing the well-known long-term stagnation of any business ("fifty-year Kondratieff cycle") being substancially sped up by the incredible change of dynamics in the business. Or Google might be nothing else but the proof of the non-cooperatve equilibrium theory put forward by the Nobel Prize Lauret John Forbes Nash Jr. Okay that might be a bit too deep so let us move on. :-)
Theories aside: I think that Google has lately been a bit too confident, yeah too cocky, in too many aspects The aquisition of YouTube that I was skeptical from the beginning has turned out to become a nightmare to monetize. I think they have destroyed themselves and underestimated their disregard on privacy, and I suggest that they take a glance at the famous Poynter Institute movie EPIC 2014.
