Autoworker, Fellow Laborers (Laborer Friends): What we witness today, is an insult to the intelligence of the people, and disregard for their votes, the trampling of the principles of the Constitution by the government. It is our duty to join this people's movement. We the workers of Iran Khodro, Thursday 28/3/88 in each working shift will stop working for half an hour to protest the suppression of students, workers, women, and the Constitution and declare our solidarity with the movement of the people of Iran. The morning and afternoon shifts from 10 to 10:30. The night shift from 3 to 3:30. Laborers of IranKhodor >>> in iran has logged a complaint recently, and the complaint is as follow:In the past few days we were the witness of the hard work of many men, women, youngster and elder lies in iran and also many people from different cultures in iran. These people are asking the government to give them lawful rights and freedom. They also ask for a free vote meaning the ability and the chance to have their say as an individual without any interference from any authorities. This is the right that people have in other countries, is officially known all over the world and no one is trying to take these rights away from them.We were witnessing people being harassed, being taken in to custody and we saw people being killed. We see the blood of innocent people, who have been killed these days. This is not stopping...

"In Vietnam, you might have had two or three networks out there covering it -- you could count on your fingers the number of perspectives on what was going on," she said. "Today, you have the ability to literally have hundreds, if not hundreds of thousands, of perspectives from people not only of different geographical perspectives, but also from different cultural and philosophical perspectives." Moeller said online networking sites like Twitter and Facebook have "come into flowering" since even the most recent world events, like natural disasters or political upheavals, that have garnered widespread attention. The growing number of people becoming Web-savvy makes the online networks more powerful, she said. "It's not just the half-dozen geeks that used to be part of the HAM radio network, but millions of people have figured out how to sign up at Facebook and can get to [opposition candidate Mir Hossein] Moussavi's Facebook site." Sarah Jaffe, a blogger and self-professed "new media geek" living in New York, is among those who have tuned in to the action in Iran through online media. In a blog Thursday titled, " Iran Protests: It's not about Twitter, it's not about us," she noted the important role the Internet has played in spreading the word and engaging the public. But at the end of the day, she said, the online tools are just that -- tools. And the real story is the massive, nonvirtual movement in Iran. "I love Twitter and all that stuff ... but it's not...

Politica.
