It is a green and crème single domed mausoleum to this Suffi saint that surrounds itself with a chaotic mix of devotees, beggars, people, the arbit taxi and a line of shops selling the most peculiar coterie of colourful chaddars [shawls], incense and flowers. The chaddars [shawls] are placed on the tomb to pay respect to the saint and gain his blessing.

My name is Tony Hiam, and I have produced this site in an attempt to keep the Billy Bunter stories alive, and also to acknowledge the tremendous work of Frank Richards (real name Charles Hamilton). This site is dedicated to all the followers of The Magnet and Billy Bunter. I have endeavoured to provide some of the more interesting (to me at least) facts and figures relating to The Magnet, Frank Richards, and the schoolboys of Greyfriars School. In addition I have also added a few light-hearted fun items... Just for the fun of it! Should you find any errors on these pages, please let me know so I can correct it.

Lord Balaji’s abode on top of the Thirumala Mountains is a place of sheer beauty to behold and a magnificent spot to visit. He is considered to be one of the richest of Gods and, how such a fantastic layout was created is something worth wondering about. As the TTD (Thirumala Tirupathi Devasthanam) buses, piloted by expert drivers, wind their way up the road, one can see steep mountains on the right and deep gorges to the left. The upward journey takes around 45 minutes and, on the way, we can also see private vehicles stranded, panting for breath as it were, apart from pilgrims trudging their way up a path built specially for such devotees who prefer to foot it to the top rather than use mechanized transport. The downward journey is even more exciting as the bus has to negotiate more than 75 hair pin bends. One has to, literally, hold on to the seat as well as his breath.

My website received a lot of appreciation for the creative manner in which our team presented the message of greetings on March 8, International Women’s Day. The usual masthead of the website was replaced with three alternating screens, the first saying “ Naari Tum Shraddha Ho Naari Tum Samskaar Ho Naari Tum Shakti Ho ” (Woman you are Strength). The idea was inspired by the famous lines by renowned Hindi poet Jayashankar Prasad: Nari! Tum keval shraddha ho, Vishwas-rajat-nag-pal-tal mein, Piyush srot si baha karo, Jeevan ki sundar samtal mein. (Oh woman! you are devotion personified Under the silver mountain of faith, Flow you, like a river of ambrosia On this beautiful earth.)

: March 23, 2009 - 4:03 pm March 23, 2009 6:00 pm Mon There have been some very interesting responses to the question under debate on the last post and I am grateful to those that have come in and participated. It is endearing to know that so many feel and express views. It comes across as an issue being discussed on the dining table of the family as they sit and talk. Such a delight to find everyone a devoted part of the Extended Family !!
