The issue is not about religious rights; it's about the constitutional rights that are guaranteed to every Canadian citizen. These rights apply to every person who holds Canadian citizenship regardless of religion, ethnicity or original nationality. And it applies equally to Canadians born in the country and those born elsewhere who have been granted citizenship.

Yesh,
Canada, like the U.S., is being hypocritical about the whole democracy and human rights issue. In any case Canada has also traded with Cuba, so what's the big issue today? And what about trade with China? I would suggest that China's human rights and democracy records are worse than Cuba's.
