My parents moved to Albania in 1991 to support the development of the Bahá’í community in this country from Germany and Italy. I have attended an English-Albanian school in Tirana, the capital, called “Fenix”, up to the ninth grade, which, as well as the SAT-s for 14-year-olds a year before, I finished in the summer of 2009 with excellent results. This is where I studied English, and I got an A in the Certificate of Advanced English for Speakers of Other Languages after preparing for it at an English-course in June 2010. I attended the “Petro Nini Luarasi” high-school in Tirana in the academic year 2009-2010. I also studied French at school, and am fluent in German, Italian and Persian. My interests range from music – I play the clarinet and the guitar – and sports – basketball, volleyball, tennis, etc. – to information technology. I try to take part in as many extra-curricular activities organised by the school as I can. As I have had excellent results since first grade, and tried to get as much as I can out of the education system here in Albania, I thought that I would would have been able to give the SAT exams and then apply for any university in the world, including the United Kingdom. As it is not possible to enter universities in England with an Albanian diploma, I came to do my A-levels in Biology, Chemistry, Further Maths and Physics in September 2010 in England. I am considering studying Materials Science at university.
