Actually, Gloria is well aware of how the Filipinos HATE her. She's just so callous because she's been able to get away with a lot of things--2001 power grab from Estrada, 2004 cheating victimizing FPJ, series of mega-corruption, etc.
I fully agree with you, mllovric. Erap's a victim of OPLAN EXCELSIS hatched by business elites, Cardinal Jaime Sin, Tabako and Cory, some military generals, etc.
@Bongtamonte, those people who say they'll migrate even to Somalia endured the hell give us by the Illegitimate Gloria. Minus the anti-Estrada propaganda (w/continues today as discussed in the article), Erap was actually a good President.
Big business has a lot to do with the degradation of nature. Manufacturing of plastics, industrial chemicals, disposable containers, etc. Big business defines our lifestyles a great degree. Well, blame it all on the Industrial Revolution.
Your "technically" argument is limited only to the etymology of the words "woman" and "man" in the English language and has nothing to do with the biological nature of woman and man.
In the first place, only the patriarchal languages have the word for female human derived from the word representing the male human. In my country the Philippines, for example, the national language have very different words for woman and man. Man is "lalake" while woman is "babae." Same with Spanish, where woman is "mujer" and man is "hombre."
Ross1776 has a point. However, we do need to balance the needs of nature and of humans. I'd love to have a background refuge if I were to live someday in the Western countries. Coyotes and other scavengers/predators will always be an issue and should be aken into account.
This is a very good piece, Anne. Near a topic I also wish to explore some time in the future. Would you know if those in your list of honor killing victims ever got justice? Horrendous if not.
Re JFK, whatever official story the FBI/US government comes up with, the people will always be suspicious owing to the home video showing the Babushka Lady.

I'm just glad you survives--quite a number didn't.

Overall, nice work, Delilah.
