I do think the situation is far more complex than most people would like it to be. It is easier to point fingers than to resolve complex situations. Obama might not have a magic wand, but at least he is trying which is was the world need right now. We have too many spectators standing at the sidelines having opinions without working towards a reliable and sustainable change.

Change doesn't come from thinking about it, it comes from doing something. Instead of looking back at the issues in the past, we should look ahead and find a solution to and path away from them. That is a far more interesting discussion. We should learn from our past, but staying in the past will never and has never worked.

This relation between religious and civil marriages are a key here. For me they are not the same and yet they are. That is where this get shady. Especially when you start to consider the perception of the society on these bonds.

So true! I have always claimed that to go on the offensive is easier than to admit your role and part of the problem. Blaming others is easy, forgiving is freaking hard. I would say that forgiving is such a sweet feeling. For me that is the most constructive and true path to ourselves towards the future. Why? Well. Forgiveness for me is to look ahead and not in the past.

We can change the future, but not the past.

I do think it is so important to stay focused on what is good in this world. We have to resolve our issues, and obstacles, but ultimately we have to think of where we want to go and that is the good parts. It also helps us smile... :-)
