I wish her peace wherever she is. Perhaps, there is really a heaven where she will o longer feel pain and humiliated.

Even Reuters uses "alleged" in the caption. Doesn't that say something?

"the masterminds may be out there,--unknown but they were part of this whole conspiracy and they should be punished for it. Whether it be a jury system or not, it does not matter--they were convicted by the courts. You want a jury system, go to the United States."

I am already in the United States, but that's not the point. Considering that these soldiers escorted him out of the plane I see NO POINT in the blatant injustice of having these alleged accomplices free while the mastermind - if it happens to be Imelda - galloping (oops!) around selling fashion design jewelry! Also, considering that these poor soldiers were accomplices and refused to say "anything" is their right against self-incrimination. Or haven't you heard there was that right ?

Yes, I saw those people in 1987 and these are my reasons why I do not think they were guilty : 1. There was no open PUBLIC trial on the Aquino case. 2. The presumption that Imelda was behind it was only a presumption. It was NEVER proven beyond reasonable doubt, lest, it would have been relatively easy for the Philippine government to ask for her extradition. 3. The Judicial system is NOT like that of a jury. It was President Aquino who appointed the Court Justices. "Justice" thus, depends on the courts (appointed by then President Aquino). How's that for justice huh? No jury system is something I am POINTING out here because the Philippines has no jury system. Everything depends on the judges. 4. If these men were guilty then the Imelda theory is true. Why then should she be free selling crummy jewelry while her "underlings" had to take that rap? 5. If it were true these men were guilty why is the Philippine Senate asking for a reopening of the case again? 6. Why would the Evangelical bishops and the Catholic Church agree with the presidential commutation if it was not humanitarian and just? 7. Tell me, who are the victims really? The Aquino family, who obviously were catapulted to power because of the murder; Imelda Marcos who has had her 9th Imeldific facelift OR those poor soldiers who did time for 30 years? Is that justice? Heck, even Israel has the year of jubilee!!!
