No, Sarah- it would be "sexist" if it were a cover spread of you with a Gimp-style ball-gag, wearing nothing but moose antlers. That would also be much more entertaining and truthful about the X-gov's 'contribution' to political debate in the USA.
Rationality and Realpolitik over the fear-mongering and sabre-rattling of CheneyCo. is indeed change for the better. However, does anyone else recognize President Obama's statement is at least partly in appeasement to the Chinese, who are now(mostly covertly as yet) the most empire-hungry nation on earth? "Peace In Our Time" indeed, Mr Chamberlain...

Dumb article, trying to spread the blame when it is clear that islam, once again, is always the problem.
Time to move the "noble sanctuary" to Jordan or some other islamic place where they can indulge themselves in their "religion" of death with other islamics.
One example is not a trend. It is a typical argument to use specific occurrences to try to paint a picture of discrimination. Using terms like "likely exposed to racial..prejudice" and "anti-Latino crimes were up an astonishing 40%" gives no proof to the claims. Despicable as the crime may be it is an isolated incident. Not to be overlooked is the "undocumented" tag. The man was in the United States ILLEGALLY. It doesn't matter if he was Irish, English or Polish, ILLEGALLY in the country makes HIM a criminal. I am not justifying the group's actions but to use this as evidence of a vast injustice is nonsense.
I think my IQ actually dropped reading this article. The writer can't even apply his own logic to his intelligent designer and realise the fallacy of his argument
Like a compulsive gambler, the writer imposes order into a system where there is none, easily convinced by a couple of winning streaks and ignoring the overall massive failures of his system, convinced it will actually work in the long run.
For your information, I never became an atheist because of the theory of evolution, the absurdity of your arguments lies much deeper than that to me, simply put, the argument that life is so complex it must have a creator is defeated by it's own argument, who created the creator?
Feeding the troll, I know, but ... here is an orderly thing that doesn't need intelligent direction :
Take some carbon and put it to very high temperature and pressure. Then, let it slowly cool down. Here you go ! The carbon changed to a diamond, that is, atoms very orderly organized into a regular structure - and no "intelligent designer" was required to achieve this.
By the way, I don't care about what you believe in, and neither should you. If believing in god makes you happy, I'm happy for you. But your belief does not give you the right to be judgmental on the others.
What was it you said about name calling at the end of your original post? Just because you're not actually calling somebody names doesn't mean you're not engaging in the same type of thing...
Why? Because something can't come out of nothing? Maybe it can, I don't know.

Just because the universe may have had a creator, does not mean that it is interventionist, caring or indeed still existing.

Surely if the world was chaotic, we would seize to exist. Meaning that we are here to ask the questions, because we are here to ask the questions. That is all.
Calling Mexican Coke "Inca Coke" is definitely a misnomer. Peruvians preferred Inca Kola ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inca_Kola ) so much over Coke that Coca Cola bought a majority share in the company to maintain their Latin American dominance.
As for price, an ice cold bottle would be worth $3 in the same sense that $3 lattes are worth it to so many Americans. Anyone with a decent brain wouldn't pay $3 a bottle by the case though. It's really not fair to question its value "to be paying up to 12 times as much per 12-ounce unit" unless you compare it to, say, the standard 20oz. bottle of Coke sold everywhere for $1 or more.
"...it proves once and for all that those smartest guys in the room who came up with a gazillion ways to make money without making anything were just very bright idiots, and the people who made things in exchange for money weren't the suckers they were made out to be, but the ones keeping reality warm for the rest of us." -- zenmonkeykstop
Atheists are a fringe group? How can this be so, considering that in the United States there are more professed atheists than there are Jewish people? And yet a Hanukkah display will be allowed but an atheist sign won't? In fact, in Washington state, the nonreligious outnumber religious observant Jews by almost 25 to 1!
The point is sometimes made that the atheist sign is somehow hateful or disparaging, that it disrespects people's religious beliefs. But does not every religious position "disrespect" the beliefs of other religions? Is it not a central tenet of Christianity that all non-Christians are going to burn in Hell for eternity? Yet a Christian nativity will be allowed. Is it not a central tenet of Judaism that only the Jews are a "chosen" people, somehow "special" to God? Yet a Jewish menorah will be allowed as well. Every religion is "disrespectful" of other religions by virtue of the fact that everyone believes they alone are correct and everyone else is wrong.
That's why it is unfair for a secular government to endorse ANY religious belief whatsoever, including the idea that God does NOT exist. We must have a secular government which neither endorses nor decries religion. Because either we allow no religious displays on government land, or we allow all of them equally--and as can be seen, we certainly don't want that.
