I agree with all your points. Self love is not taught in my 50's generation, that was taboo, selfish and discouraged. Puts a bit of a handicap, but one can overcome that with awareness and years of work on oneself. No wonder depression is pandemic, as is teenage suicide.

Are you actually surprised that this has happened and been brought to your attention??? The atrocities on this planet being committed against children are endemic and happening as you read this. Some girls are being impregnated by their own fathers, held captive in basements and raped repeatedly by the male family members resulting in, yes, babies of incest. I am not judging you by your comment, I just wish I lived in a society where people didn't behave so abhorrently against innocents and it seems to be quite an everyday occurrence.

Your article is well researched, very informative, and riveting at the same time. You have struck so many chords harmonious to my experience from virgin to post meno mother of two. I've always wanted to interview women candidly about their experiences, removing their names of course, so they may speak candidly. One of the things is that women tend to feel isolated with this issue, and although the man SAYS he wants to hear it, he only wants to really hear how wonderful he was and how satisfied he performed. We women are dealing with the ultra fragile ego of the man regarding his sexual prowess. They want to hear us scream in pleasure, not talk about what makes it so.

At a tender young age, my mother told me sex is another chore like doing the dishes. I refused to believe that and set out to discover it for myself. Long story short (another book perhaps!) I have had 2 out of body experience orgasms, amongst many smaller ones. The tension is important, yessiree. Those 2 out of bodies I believe is the essence of a TRUE orgasm. I was satisfied if I never had another one, as I considered them a 10.9 on the Richter scale, whereas all the others ranged from 2.3-maybe 5.6's. I consider myself lucky to have experienced these two 'events', because most people may define orgasms as those only reaching a 3.

This is a great topic to share about, eternally interesting to get people to come out and discuss it like gardening. Then we all wouldn't be so isolated in our own secrecy thinking everyone else has it better and something is wrong with us. Hurrah!

SURVEY: Should my next book be "THE ENTIRE SEX LIFE OF AN AMERICAN WOMAN"? It would also be the sequel to THE CHE DIARIES, a different title would probably be better.

Well, my daughter 'owns' the soon to be 14 year old 'Steve Irwin'. He's in good health, so he seems to have some time left. However, I just got my dream dog: a standard red poodle, which may cause some problems with the Steve Trust. He's not sure he wants to assign his canine possessions over to her, as he's a bit of an old grump toward her when she wants to pounce and play. She has more dog toys than Steve, so I don't think there will be a problem.....

Your reporting on this issue has been very enlightening. There are dyer issues at every corner of our roads and in our own back yards. It seems there is too much that has to be corrected about everything and corruption still rules. I miss my days with Plato sitting around philosophizing amidst the beautiful architecture and gardens. Weapons, wars of everything, innocent civilians killed, maimed, tortured, child and human trafficking, now the drug cartels are on the band wagon exercising their violence. I believe the soul of the planet may be attracting an asteroid just big enough to about face the entirety of civilization. Humans are so off course about everything, only a celestial event of enormous proportions effecting this planet will stop the entire monster in it's tracks.

Everyone's belief systems, behavior (favorable or unfavorable) politicians and popes, killing and cuddling, destroying or creating is in the very bosom of creation. Nothing is separate from what created us, call Him/Her what you choose. It is better to listen to others without feeling the need to defend ourselves. The need to be right, superior, and a host of other human ego traits is the very thing that keeps us blind and limited. This is a good article because it provoked much lively commentary and even created tensions between AV writers. Nice work group.

Too bad so few viewed this subject matter with minimal commentary. I only now got to it, but it is an extremely important issue. Domestic violence should be changed to domestic terrorism. It absolutely traumatizes children, hence bringing forth yet another generation with many of it's members acting out dysfunctions from experiencing this. It also promotes another generation copying what they have learned. There are SO many issues of cruelty committed by humans against everything possible, even their own children - men killing their pregnant wives, women befriending then murdering and cutting the unborn child out of the womb, the list of atrocities is really endless at this point and could promote a boost in pharmaceutical sales to alleviate the depression caused by the hopelessness in all this 'news'.

I stand corrected and admit that reading this on allvoices has pushed my reaction versus researching further button. I was not aware of the information you just provided me and thank you for sharing. I also am of the mindset that this war has nothing to do with oil and everything the government stages are LIES. I was 33 at the time, my father was dying of cancer and my attention to details of global events was eclipsed by his dying process and the constant survival mode of single parenting. My commentary on this piece was purely from emotion, not logic or open eyes.

COMPASSIONATE RELEASE??????? This monster should DIE in prison, there should be no release whatsoever. He deliberately took the lives of many innocents.....this is not justice, this is insane! This serves to only further spotlight the pain of the families of those people that died from this bastard's actions. A private jet waiting for him? He should be dragged down the runway behind that private jet. I believe in forgiveness, but not when it comes to mass murderers or people that torture children. They should rot in prison after working on chain gangs and being fed fecal stew for their meals. This is not justice.
