MoreLANDIKOTAL: One person died and dozens others admitted in Agency head quarter hospital when diarrhea epidemic broke out in Landikotal, hospital sources said.
Sources said a man identified as, Yar Gul, an Afghan national, currently residing at Sadukhel area of Landikotal Tehsil died of diarrhea when he was shifting to hospital. At least thirty-five others were also registered in the AHQ hospital Landikotal who went through treatment, sources added. Most of the affected patients were children and aged persons. Talking to reporter, the attendants of the patients in the AHQ hospital said that they bought medicines from open market because the hospital store lacking diarrhea’s medicines. The patients demanded from the hospital administration of clean water because there was no clean drinking water for patients in the AHQ hospital. Relatives of the patients also demanded of the director health services Fata (DHSF) that to take an urgent step and make sure the availability of the medicines for the admitted patients.
LANDIKOTAL: Unidentified militants consecutively blown up another government primary school last twenty four hours in Landikotal sub-division of Khyber Agency on Tuesday morning.
Sources said that, unidentified militants early morning dynamited government primary school at Ghalanai area of Ali Masjid in Jamrud, however, no casualty occurred in the incident. The bomb was very power full which destroyed the school completely, sources added. Two government girls’ schools had been targeted one day ago on Monday in Landikotal sub-division, which caused fear in the general public.
The number of students, especially girls students have had decreased to seventy percent due to the consecutive bomb blasts in schools. It worth to mention that in the last two months hundreds of upper and meddle class families have compelled to left Landikotal and shifted to Peshawar and other parts of the country.
Meanwhile, a Frontier Corps (FC) soldier, Sajid Ahmad Shinwari, resident of Shakhmal Khel Landikotal, who had been killed in Swat four days ago during the combat with militants was laid to rest in his ancestral grave yard on Monday.
LANDIKOTAL: Two security personnel were injured when unidentified gunmen attacked fired mortar shells on the Levies head quarter at Shah Kas area of Jamrud sub-division of Khyber Agency on late Saturday night.
Several mortar shells were fired from unknown location targeted the Levies headquarter in Shah Kas, sources said. Adding, Security forces also retaliated with heavy guns.the firing was started for three hours, resulting, a Levy soldier Akbar Khan and Khasadar Sayed Shah injured. The injured security personnel later shifted to Hayat Abad Medical complex where Sayed Shah was stated critical. Officials said.
LANDIKOTAL: Political administration Landikotal Friday claimed to have arrested seventeen suspected Taliban from the main Taliban center during a raid on Quba mosque, which was according to administration, used for Taliban activities and sealed the mosque twice in two weeks.
The raid was carried out after Juma congregation, when reportedly the Quba masque Khateen and local Taliban commander Maulana Hazrat Nabi violated the peace agreement and led the juma congregation. The peace agreement was signed last week with local administration. APA Landikotal said.
A huge contingent of Levies, FC and Khasadars personnel raided on the Quba mosque and arrested seventeen people but the mosque Khateeb had skipped the scene before the raid. According to reliable sources, most of the detainees were the students in seminary who were less then ten years of age, they were learning the holy Quran in the mosque. To avoid public casualties, security forces had blocked all main and links roads in public interest. Torkham border was sealed for several hours for general public. However, Taliban movement not resisted the law enforcers and the operation was ended without any firing and cross firing against the local Taliban commander.
