I began blogging during the 2008 US presidential campaign - Iowa IS the first caucus state! Therefore, there was a lot of news to comment on! Now, I write about current events, political issues, whatever tickles my fancy.
This fall, I will be writing on the unique Iowa high school football scene. Don't think the political issues will fall by the wayside, I am a very multi-faceted writer.
I am working on two novels: one historical fiction, one, a story of hope for individuals battling Multiple Sclerosis.
I am thrilled to be a part of www.allvoices.com and welcome all readers - regardless of viewpoint. I wish to foster intelligent, respectful discussion on issues.
Personally, I am living in Iowa, but I traveled, lived in many states, spent time in Japan and Europe. This fall, I have the opportunity to visit Istanbul, Turkey.
I look forward to sharing my thoughts and views and want to hear yours. Feel free to comment on my articles and become a fan...I will do the same for you.

Palin claims "blurring of the lines" as the reason for supporting Doug Hoffman over Scozzafava invoking (roughly) the thoughts of Ronald Reagan. All that is happening in the NY Race is a splitting of the vote that will weaken the representation of the district.
I am not twisting data - I still maintain polls are fluid - it is the voters that will have their say. I am just evaluating the information available. That information tells my gut to watch Palin - that's all...
Thanks for stopping by!
Personally, I listen to all avenues (Fox, CNN, MSNBC) and attempt to grasp the bigger picture. Everytime one is labeled it closes minds. Unfortuantely, some of the politicians just want to straddle the labels and be everything... The mid-term elections should be entertaining if not informative.
Palin is the one who made it clear her first priority was to the good citizens of Alaska - why then would she simply walk away?
I find it extremely interesting that those who are attempting to say the "liberals" are flogging a dead horse have done nonetheless to past candidates and political situations when it suited their fancy.
Sarah Palin will have her 15 minutes of fame - and she will take portions of the Republican Party with her in a fireball. For now, it is a good lesson for all future politicians to take note...watch that many will be tracking your motives and ideals.
Sarah Palin will not be an asset to the Republican Party - in fact, with her aligning with the "Conservative Party" she is drawing recognition and notarity to an up and coming third party that will weaken the Republican Party similar to the Ross Perot scenario.
Am I jealous? Not at all. Am I concerned for my country and the political system? Absolutely!
It got even stranger when some of us (me included) challenged their "policy" as the week before, the same establishment held a "wet t-shirt contest". Needless to say, they are no longer in business - too much bad publicity!

Have you visited the 350.org website? They are claiming over 5000 events worldwide - not just the USA. I searched for event listings in both China and India, finding 300+ sites holding events in both of the countries you specifically referenced.
Just as in the USA, grass route movements create an educational awareness in an area or community. I believe there are caring global citizens in countries throughout the world who wish to stimulate and effect change.
The United States has its own list of litany of ways we are failing and lacking in "green" ways. I am pleased to see the interest and involvement generated by 350.org.
