So this is my way of participating in the BlogAction Day! I dedicate this site to all the people who are suffering due to poverty and eventually dying of hunger. I do so because I could not imagine or fathom how Human Beings in great magnitude are suffering because they have nothing to eat what so ever. And eventually die because fo hunger... This phenomena is supposed to avoided if ever each one of us has the heart to help those starving people. Enough food is produced globally to feed the planet but even so roughly 925 million people go to bed hungry every night. Hunger is a leading cause of death, killing an estimated 10 million people every year - more than AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria combined.
- A child dies of hunger every 5 seconds (U.N. World Food Programme -WFP)
- 4 million new chronically hungry people per year (WFP)
- One in four children in developing countries is underweight (UNICEF) Most of the world's hungry are not short of food because of a one-off disaster or crop failure but because of chronic, long-term poverty that means they cannot afford the food that is readily available in their local markets.
I dedicate this site to all the people who are suffering and dying of hunger.
