Sigfrid Rydquist is a writer for Provoices and television and film producer based in Austin, Texas. He has worked extensively for ABC News and other media outlets over the years, covering stories ranging from Hurricane Katrina to NASCAR, the FLDS Polygamy raid to the Presidential Primaries.
Sigfrid managed the ABC News bureau in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina, managing stories and reporting regularly on life amidst the recovery. During that time Sigfrid was a frequent contributor to ABCNEWS.com. Sigfrid has written and produced breaking news and feature stories at both the national and local level.
At Swarthmore College in Pennsylvania, Sigfrid studied psychology, media, and modern culture. Sigfrid was a columnist for the student Newspaper for several years.
After graduation in 2000, Sigfrid went to work for ABC News in New York, where he became a researcher for Peter Jennings. Sigfrid gathered facts and contributed to reports on on the 9/11 attacks, the invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq, the Anthrax attacks, the New York City blackout, and countless other stories.
Sigfrid has always written about music, one of his passions. He has contributed to national magazines such as Relix Magazine and Soundcheck Magazine. He worked as an editor and writer for Where Y’at Magazine, a monthly magazine in New Orleans with a circulation of over 60,000.
