10th March is always been an Important day for Tibetan but March 10tth 2009 have a significance. This year is a 5o year’s anniversary of a failed uprising of Tibetan when their territory was taken over by Chinese forces. Like all over the world Tibetan immigrants in San Francisco protesting on the Chinese control of their homeland.
About 400 people marched all around San Francisco city. They start demonstration from Berkeley city and did protest in front of Chinese consulate and their demonstration ends at Union Square in the night. The participants hold banner placards and flags. They demand autonomy from China.
Tibetan Independence was ends when, in 1950's the Chinese government under the rule of Chairman Mao took over by violating the rights of Tibetans. Tibetan leader Dalai Lama and thousands of Tibetans took asylum in different part of the world. Dalai Lama means wisdom of ocean. Dalai Lam Tenzin Gyatso, 73 took asylum in India in 1959 and won a Nobel Peace Price in 1989 for his non violent struggle for Tibet
Large number of Tibetan migrated to India, Nepal, United States and other Asian countries.
