The epoch of 1-PriceTag-Suits-All Songs on iTunes came to a grinding halt on Tuesday as Apple Inc., the foremost Digital Music Company, started promoting several of it’s most downloaded songs for $1.29 (U.S) per song. Apple had earlier said that it would conclude selling individual songs for 99 Cents each, and will now offer 3 tiers: 69 cents, 99 Cents, and $1.29.
First day saw songs such as ‘Jai Ho’ from the Slumdog Millionaire Movie soundtrack, Single Ladies by Beyonce, and Chicken Fried by the Zac Brown Band being bumped up to $1.29. The central iTunes page advertised compilation of 69-cent songs, which comprised of ‘London Calling’ by The Clash and Monkey by George Michael. Apple also got rid of the copy protection expertise known as Digital-Rights Management or DRM. Without DRM, the songs can be imitated to any number of CDs, computers or music players, as long as the devices sustain the AAC encoding format.
But as people got used to buying music online, Apple had difficulty stating that it was easiest when all the songs cost 99 Cents.
