    Clash Between PPPP and PML (N) workers in Multan was reported on a private TV channel in Pakistan, Multan is native city of Prime Minister Gailani, clash between workers was of meager intensity and till the filing of this report protesting small crowd in Multan is staging sit in. Another protest rally in Rawalpindi was ended peacefully on Saturday, violent protest demonstrations were witnessed in different parts of Punjab after Supreme Court decisions regarding disqualification of ex Chief Minister Punjab Mian Shehbaz Sharif.

    Meanwhile federal cabinet had approved imposition of Governor Raj in Punjab, cabinet meeting was headed by Prime Minister Gailani. Mian Shebaz Sharif and Mian Nawaz Sharif are blaming president Asif Ali Zardari for their disqualification through Supreme Court decision, while President Zardari has reportedly said that if both the brothers would have called upon him, some way out could have been sorted out. PPPP leadership has reportedly denied any involvement in disqualification proceedings against Mian brothers and had said that it is a purely Supreme Court’s decision.

    Most of the local opinion leaders in Pakistan were of the view that with ouster of General Parvez Musharaf from power suicide bomb attacks; bomb explosions and abductions will come to an end in Pakistan and its tribal areas. After his ouster from power now the same opinion leaders are of the view that situation in Pakistan will become normal if US lead coalition troops leave Afghanistan.

    On Monday with abduction of UNHCR official John Slokey in Quetta and murder of his Pakistani driver Hashim is one more incident among numerous abduction incidents occurred in the past few decades in Pakistan, John is an American citizen and official of UNHCR local media news reports reflect that he was heading towards his office from his home when was intercepted by unknown abductors in Quetta capital of Baluchistan.

    According to news reports around 70 people were killed in Swat on Monday, 35 killings were confirmed by ISPR. Around seven hundred thousand people have migrated from Swat valley to escape death; those living in Swat are besieged in their homes. Unlike Taliban militant’s usual outlook, militants fighting in Swat are wearing masks on their faces and wearing uniform and shoes; normally Taliban militants wear Shalwar Qameez and turbans on their heads. Pakistan Army spokesman was of the view that security forces have taken control of Swat valley to eliminate insurgency.

    On 9th of January 2009 Awami National Party Finance secretary and owner of daily Taseer Mr. Salamat Khan Orakzai was kidnapped near Nakbund village located on Kohat Pindi road, according to his newspaper reporter Mr. Sahibzada Afridi and Mr. Munawar Orakzai was coming from Pindi towards Kohat when abductors abducted him near Nakbund village of Khushal Garh Union Council Kohat, they have further added that no contact is so far made by abductors regarding ransom for his release with his family or friends. Abducted Salamat Khan Orakzai by himself is from Orakzai tribe and is a resident of Orakzai Agency, but was doing business in Kohat. ‘He also owns some property in Fateh Jung area of Punjab,’ his friend Inayat Orkzai had said. Prior to his abduction he had received threats from certain quarters,’ disclosed by reporter Mumtaz Bangash. His Uncle was also abducted last year but was recovered in a police raid from Khwaja Abad area of Kohat. His valiant newspaper reporters and other staff members were busy in filing stories and doing their routine tasks in daily Taseer office in Kohat on Monday evening when I went their to confirm his abduction news and express sympathy with him and his family. During last few decades hundreds of people from Kohat and other areas of NWFP were kidnapped for ransom many of them were released after payment of ransom by their families, good number of them were killed by the abductors, but in most of the cases people abducted...

    Jamaat ud Dawa office located in Jungle Khel area of Kohat was sealed, Kohat police had raided Masjid I Qaba, police has been also conducting raids to arrest Jamaat ud Dawa activists in Kohat. According to Kohat police sources, police station Chowni staff had raided Masjid I Qaba located in Jungle Khel area of Kohat and office of Jamaat ud Dawa located in Masjid Qaba was sealed on Friday. Police had conducted raids after declaration of UN Security Council Alqaeeda and Taliban Sanctions Committee, of Jamat ud Dawa as terrorist organization, interior ministry of Pakistan had also issued instructions regarding arrest of Jamaat ud Dawa activists after the decision of UN Security Council
    Committee.

    A drunk Afghan refugee had launched hand grenade attack on Thursday in bazaar of Ghamkole refugee camp Kohat, twenty persons were injured two critically injured Afghan refugees were admitted in a hospital of Peshawar. According to police sources dead drunk Afghan refugee accused Ahmed Munir had launched hand grenade attack on crowd of people present in bazaar of Ghamkole Afghan refugee camp Kohat in which twenty persons were injured, police had arrested accused Ahmed Munir and had shifted him to lock up of Jungle Khel police station.
