Now those of us who can't tell asteroids from meteors have a shot at assisting the U.S. space program. All it takes is the willingess to supply up to 350 millilitres of fresh urine.

Those willing to part with their pee are invited to 2200 Space Park near the Johnson Space Center. A NASA executive explains that given the complexities of creating synthetic urine, donations are their best hope.

Why does NASA need the urine in the first place? Apparently one of its current missions aims to have astronauts back on the moon by 2020. One of the key challenges is to design functional toilets and ample urine is needed while testing the toilets.
