500 actors were hired to stand absolutely still in the subway of New York City today in one of the largest April Fools Jokes around the world today. Most big cities around the world participated to stand up against the overly stressed world. The project is inspired by an theatrical improvisation project in New York. I saw a few videos from the events and the reactions from people in the subway in New York are pricesless. Looking at the reactions from people when they see that amount of people standing absolutely still are just very amusing. It brings out the smile of anyone.
It especially appealed to me as it was fun and quite an important stand in the world we now live in. In buddhism, one central component is to always be present in what you are doing, as well as take the time to reflect on what is going on around them. My teacher in religion in high-school in Sweden examplified this as you never ever have to worry about if you left the stove on, left the hair dryer plugged in or forgot the iron.
So maybe this is what we need - a day for us all to stress down for us and take the chill pill. :-)
