Tim Tebow's Biography

Timothy Richard Tebow (born August 14, 1987) is a quarterback for the New York Jets. Tebow came to the Jets in a trade with the Denver Broncos on March 21, 2012.

Tebow first gained notoriety while at the University of Florida, where he won the 2007 Heisman Trophy and helped the Gators to two BCS National Championships. Since his rise to fame, Tebow has gotten unprecedented attention from the national media and fans across the country, thanks in large part to his devout religious beliefs and unorthodox play on the field.

Perhaps because of his open shows of religion, as well as the public's difficulty realizing that he really is "that nice," Tebow has become one of the nation's most polarizing figures. His memorabilia sales are through the roof, despite his mediocre play on the field. Even though he completed just 46.5 percent of his passes in 2011, he led the Broncos to an AFC West title and a playoff win, which only helped build his image as otherworldly.
