Person Biography:(required) <p>Born on 9th October 1966, David Cameron has been the UKs Prime Minister since June 2010. He is the leader of the UK Conservative or Tory party, which currently governs the country, as part of a coalition with the Liberal Democrats. David was educated at Eton and Brasenose College, Oxford. He graduated from Oxford University, in 1988, with a first class honours degree in Politics, Philosophy and Economics. Mr Cameron has had working links with the Conservative Party since 1988. He has been a Tory MP since June 2001. His political career moved upwards at a fast and furious pace, especially for one so young.</p> <p>On a personal note David married Samantha Sheffield in 1996. The couple had a boy, Ivan, who was disabled with cerebral palsy. Ivan sadly died in 2009, when he was just 6 years old. The Camerons had two other children, Nancy and Arthur. When the Camerons stepped over the threshold of Number 10 Downing Street in 2010, Samantha was heavily pregnant. On 24th August 2010 Sam Cam, as she if often called, gave birth to a baby girl, who was called Florence Rose Endellion. The Camerons told well wishers that the names had Cornish derivatives, which was why they were chosen. The Cameron family were taking a summer vacation in Cornwall when Samantha unexpectedly went into Labour.</p> <p>David Cameron has only been the Prime Minister of the UK for about 7 months, now. He was welcomed by the British people as a fresh start after Gordon's Brown dour term of office. Cameron was thought to have the right balance of compassion and strength which would be needed to turn the UK economy around. To date the government has made many voters think again. The Coalition government is currently pushing through tough reform for the NHS, welfare benefits and public sector workers. Will the nasty medicine achieve the results needed? That is yet to be seen.</p> <p><strong>Late February 2011: </strong>David Cameron has been under fire in recent days for the government's lack of speed in rescuing British nationals trapped inside conflict torn Libya.</p> <p>On 26th February 2011 a special forces unit was sent to help evacuate those Brits trapped in the remote oil fields of Libya. The vessels ended up carrying other foreign nationals as well as Britons trying to flee Libya.</p> <p>It seems likely that another mission will soon be underway as it is still thought that a few hundred Brits are left in Libya. Currently the UK government is staying tight lipped about this mission. It knows that careless talk can cost lives.</p>
