Person Biography:(required) <p>  </p> <p> He is the 44th President of the United States, and the first Afro-American ever elected to that position. A rousing and well received keynote speech at the Democratic National Convention in Boston catapulted him to fame. In 2009, Americans elected him as the President, despite having a mere four years of political experience.</p> <p> Born to a white American mother and Kenyan father, he had to move to Indonesia, at the age of 6, when his mother remarried an Indonesian oil manager. In Indonesia, he experienced and saw a culture steeped in poverty which he later enumerated his autobiography ‘Dreams From My Father’ (2006).</p> <p> Obama later returned to Hawaii where he was brought up by his grandparents and attended Hawaii’s top prep academy. Later he attended Columbia University. In New York, Obama found that he was unable to escape New York’s racial tension. This motivated him to join a Chicago-based church group that did social work. </p>
