Person Biography:(required) <p> </p> <p>Arid Uka, the 21-year-old of Kosovo Albanian origin, became known as a Frankfurt Shooter. On March 2, 2011 the lone gunman opened a fire on the US air force bus on Frankfurt airport, killing two and seriously injuring a third American soldier. According to the German police, Uka has confessed the attack at the bus carrying 15 airmen supposed to be deployed in Afghanistan.</p> <p>German prosecutors said Islamic militancy was suspected motive of the attack, and Uka has probably been radicalized in the last few years. Some media reported he shouted “<em>Allah</em><em> </em>Akbar” which is Arabic for “God is Great” right before shooting.</p> <p>The German Spiegel Online said he told investigators he had carried out the attack after watching a YouTube video showing Muslim women being raped by American soldiers.</p> <p>Uka, a devout Muslim nicknamed Abu Reyyan, was born on February 8, 1990. He worked part time at the Frankfurt airport. Previously, he also did a social service at the Green Crescent, a Frankfurt group that cares for elderly Muslim immigrants with no family.</p> <p>“He was a hardworking person. He did not talk much. He was very loved by the patients and was always on time for the job,” Moustafa Shahin, head of the Green Crescent, was <a href="http://www.allvoices.com/s/person-98000/aHR0cDovL3d3dy5ueXRpbWVzLmNvbS8yMDExLzAzLzA4L3dvcmxkL2V1cm9wZS8wOGlodC1mcmFua2Z1cnQwOC5odG1s">quoted</a> saying.</p> <p>His colleagues from the post office at the Frankfurt airport told German media he was quiet, and not very social. He was born in Mitrovica, northern Kosovo and Metohija, and was raised in Germany, where his parents lived for over four decades. However, he holds Serbian and Montenegrin citizenship.</p> <p>The media reported Uka’s grandfather was a religious leader at a mosque in the village of Zabar, near Mitrovica, Kosovo.</p> <p>Kosovo Albanians, including the members of his own family, strongly condemned the attack on American airmen.</p> <p> </p> <p> </p>
