Amanda Knox was born on July 9, 1987 in Seattle, WA. Knox was an adorably beautiful child, girl and teenager who grew up playing soccer. She was dubbed the nickname Foxy Knoxy due to her clever soccer dribbling skills. She graduated with honors from Jesuit high school. Amanda was an excellent student, so much so, she received a scholarship to the University of Washington.
Amanda loves to write which made her a perfect fit for social media — very much like many other college students. Her parents, Eddy Mellas and Curt Knox, were not well to do, so when Knox was accepted into a study abroad program, she chose to help out by working three jobs to pay for it.
Knox went as an exchange student to Perugia, Italy, and shared a cottage with several other students, including Meredith Kercher from Great Britain. On Nov. 2, Kercher was found dead in her bedroom, strangled and stabbed and sexually assaulted — and Amanda Knox, accused along with two others of the murder, were forced into the media spotlight.
Knox served four years in prison for the death of Kercher but proclaimed her innocence the whole time. She appealed her 26 year sentence for a year and finally was acquitted on October 3, 2011. During her prison term, Amanda was known for playing guitar in the chapel and singing hymns. While waiting on the day of her release she did the same.
