Umar Islam (born 23 April 1978) (formerly Brian Young) is one of the suspects arrested in the UK in connection to the 2006 transatlantic aircraft terrorist plot in the United Kingdom, and one of the nineteen whose accounts were frozen by the Bank of England. Umar is of West Indian ancestry, converted to Islam around 2006, and married a Muslim woman, with whom he had a child.
