When Soulja Boy recently released his Juice mixtape with DJ Scream and DJ Swamp Izzo, The SODMG head also revealed that he'd be starring in a remake of the classic film under the same name. Now with the mixtape online and the film set to begin production, SB's revealing more details on the new project including the task of taking on Tupac's old role of "Bishop." According to the 20-year-old rap star, filming for the remake begins soon and he's bringing his SOD family along for the ride. He tells VIBE, "Basically, it's your boy Soulja and I'm Bishop in 2011, running around in the streets, man. You know how the movie goes, but we're flipping it and shooting in Atlanta. I want to show these people my acting side and me being creative—always giving them something new; that's all. I got same video director that shot "Crank That," "Kiss Me Through The Phone," "Turn My Swag On" —my most successful videos. The whole mixtape is the soundtrack for the movie. Soulja also adds that rapper Cam'Ron asked to be in it when the production kicks off April 28th. "Yeah, man. Actually Cam'Ron reached out to get in the movie. Some of the original actors that were in the original reached out too. We're in pre-production right now. We start filming on the Apr. 28th in Atlanta. It's going to be crazy. Of course I'm going to have my SOD family in there. We're juicing up!" In addition to the "Juice" remake, the rapper's said to be prepping a new reality show.
