Obama's Advisor makes statement about Georgia's occupied regions 2011-04-16 "Part of Georgia's territory still remains occupied by Russia and more efforts are needed to regulate the situation," Michael McFaul, Adviros of US President Brack Obama in Eurasian Affairs has stated. McFaul made the statement when delivering a speech as part of the international economic conference at Peterson Institutute. He said the US refuced to mediate between Georgia and Russia regarding accession of Russia into the World Trade Organization (WTO) being reluctant to politicize the issue. Russia was remineded once again that the US was not going to press on Georgia in that regard.
