Mark Sanchez's BiographyMark Sanchez (born November 11, 1986 in Long Beach, California) is an American football quarterback for the New York Jets of the National Football League. He was drafted in the first round of the 2009 NFL Draft (fifth player overall, and the second quarterback overall) by the New York Jets. He played college football for the University of Southern California (USC). Sanchez is a rookie and started his first National Football League game with the New York Jets on Sunday, September 13, 2009. His nickname is The Sanchise which is a combination of his last name and the word Franchise. It is similar to that of New York Mets pitcher Tom Seaver who was known as The Franchise.
