ERIE, Pa -- Informed Decision could not have been more impressive defeating six other fillies and mares in the Grade 3, $400000 cSaturday evening at Presque Isle Downs. Jockey Julien Leparoux kept the 4-year-old daughter of Monarchos just off the early pace and to the outside in the 6 1/2-furlong race. Midway through the turn, Leparoux shook Informed Decision up, and she inched closer to the lead before rallying in the stretch to draw clear by 2 1/2 lengths. After the race, Leparoux said he was happy with the way his filly preformed. "We were outside the whole time, so we had no trouble at all," he said. "She seems to be getting better all of the time. She did it pretty easy." Sweet Lorena finished second, a half-length in front of Flashing in third. Sweet Lorena had been no worse than second in her six prior Presque Isle Downs attempts, winning four of them. "I was very happy with her effort, she ran a helluva race," trainer Michael Ferraro said of Sweet Lorena. "Those were some fantastic horses." Ferraro plans on running Sweet Lorena at Belmont in the fall as she is a New York-bred. Trainer Jonathan Sheppard was at Presque Isle with the owner of Informed Decision, Augustin Stable owner George Strawbridge. Both men confirmed that Informed Decision would run in the Breeders' Cup Filly and Mare Sprint at Santa Anita on Nov. 6. They are unsure, however, if she will run before then.
