Hillary Clinton met West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee some time ago. The meeting with Mamata, is first such exercise by any US secretary of state, is considered important as the Trinamool chief had effectively stalled the UPA government's efforts last year to bring in FDI in retail. Besides the thorny issue of FDI in retail, Hillary and Mamata are likely to discuss the Teesta water-sharing treaty with Bangladesh and US investments in Bengal.
