Geoff Hoon's BiographyGeoffrey "Geoff" William Hoon (born 6 December 1953) is a British Labour politician, who has been the Member of Parliament for Ashfield since 1992. In the British Government, he served as Defence Secretary, Transport Secretary, Leader of the House of Commons and Chief Whip of the House of Commons, before resigning from the Cabinet to spend more time with his family; he will stand down at the next election.
