David Lee Wells (born May 20, 1963 in Torrance, California) is a former Major League Baseball starting pitcher. Nicknamed "Boomer," Wells was considered to be one of the game's better left-handed pitchers, especially during his years with the New York Yankees and the Toronto Blue Jays. He is one of 18 pitchers to have pitched a perfect game in Major League Baseball. He is tied only with Kenny Lofton for appearing in the post-season with six different teams. Wells will be a broadcaster on TBS Sunday baseball broadcasts during 2009.
