Congressman Connie Mack (R-FL) Discusses Renewal of the Patriot Act with Judge Anthony Napolitano
Congressman Connie Mack (R-FL 14) appeared on FOX Business Network's "Freedom Watch," to discuss his views on the renewal of the Patriot Act. Congressman Mack and Judge Anthony Napolitano, the host of "Freedom Watch," discussed the fact that the United States fought wars in the past to prevent the infringement of Constitutional liberties that the Patriot Act entails. Congressman Mack expressed regret that Congress would likely renew the bill, which was enacted at its original passage without lawmakers having read or debated the act. Congressman Mack warned that legislation of this sort is not the end of a process of government growth, but simply a beginning. Judge Napolitano also invited Congressman Mack to discuss the current state of the federal budget, which Mack believes will not be passed by the Democrat-controlled Senate, as the current budget plan would not allow the Obama Administration to raise the debt ceiling and continue spending and government growth.
