Liszt -- Sonata in B minor -- Claudio Arrau -- 1982
This performance of the Liszt sonata in B minor by Claudio Arrau was given in the Jesuit church, Templo de la Compania in Guanajunato, Mexico on May 10, 1982. The recording appears to have been made from a TV broadcast and the quality of the picture and sound is very poor. I have restored it as best I could but if someone has a better copy, I would surely love to get it. This may be the only video recording of Liszt sonata by Arrau and as such makes this video rare. It is fascinating to see Claudio Arrau play such a difficult piece with ease at the age of 79. He was truly a master pianist of the highest order. Restored by RB Prior
