Brad Lidge's Biography

Bradley Thomas Lidge (born December 23, 1976 in Sacramento, California) is an American Major League Baseball relief pitcher for the Philadelphia Phillies. Also known to fans and writers as "Lights Out" Lidge, he is the all-time leader in strikeouts per nine innings (12.98 K/9) among pitchers with at least 200 appearances in their career. Lidge throws a four-seam fastball that consistently reaches 97 or 98 miles per hour, as well as a hard, sharp breaking slider that ranges from 87 to 90 mph. His fastest pitch was recorded at 102 mph in 2006. He currently resides in Englewood, Colorado with his wife, Lindsey, and his daughter, Avery Grace.
