Bart Gordon's Biography

Barton Jennings "Bart" Gordon, (born January 24, 1949) is a United States Representative from Tennessee, representing the state's 6th Congressional district (map). He is a Blue Dog Democrat. The district includes several rural areas and fast-growing suburbs east of Nashville. With the Democrats' victory in the 2006 midterm elections, Gordon has been named as chairman of the House Committee on Science and Technology.
