Aaron Sorkin: Social Network

The Lucasfilm Speaker Series, hosted by Kate Shaw, presents an in depth interview with Aaron Sorkin, acclaimed screenwriter of The Social Network. This interview was recorded at Lucasfilm headquarters in San Francisco on February 8, 2011. Aaron Sorkin debuted on Broadway with the 1989 legal military drama A Few Good Men. Three years later, the play was turned into an Oscar-nominated film, which launched Sorkin's Hollywood career. Sorkin then went on to television, where he and director-producer Thomas Schlamme created a succession of poignant, and critically acclaimed series -- Sports Night, West Wing, and Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip. Sorkin returned to the movies with the 2007 political comedy-drama Charlie Wilson's War, and the 2010 docudrama, The Social Network, about the rise of Facebook. At the time of Sorkin's appearance, Social Network had been nominated for 8 Academy Awards. Sorkin went on to win an Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay.
