March 17, 2011 The independent feature film "Pendejo (Idiot)" has wrapped principal photography. The upcoming romantic comedy was written and directed by Jairaj Walia. "Pendejo (Idiot)" is an outlandish, fish-out-of-water story that follows a spoiled party boy rendered penniless by his wealthy father with the ultimatum that he either take a low-level position at the company he technically owns or lose his inheritance. Forced to confront the notion of responsibility for the first time in his life, he gradually adapts to his new environment, embraces the hardworking lifestyle and even manages to discover romance along the way through charm and personality alone. "I'm excited about this film. It has a unique style and addresses both the Indian and Latin cultures, which required we assemble a special group of actors for the cast," says Walia. "It was a pleasure to collaborate with these talented individuals. I was fortunate to have benefited from the experience of my crew, who offered valuable guidance along the way. I couldn't have asked for more in directing my first feature film." "Pendejo (Idiot)" marks Walia's debut as a feature-film director. Walia previously directed a series of short films, including "In the Foxhole," which premiered in film festivals from New York to Los Angeles and aired on the Hallmark Movie Channel as part of the Film Positive initiative. The "Pendejo (Idiot)" cast includes: Raja Fenske as J (Nickelodeon's "Unfabulous"), Fernanda Romero as Jenny ("The Eye"),Trejo as Pedro ("Machete"), Laksh Singh as Bobby ("Little Fockers"), Marissa Caprielian as Chippie ("Entourage"), Darlene Vazquetelles as Lupe ("Kings of South Beach") and Sevier Crespo as Ramon ("Fast Lane").
