Rudd welcomes 'big Australia'

The Federal Government is under pressure to spell out how it plans for Australia to sustain more than 35 million people by 2050. Yesterday, Treasury head Ken Henry expressed concern that Australia would not be able to sustain a predicted 60 per cent growth in population over the next four decades.
