The Sultan of Brunei, Haji Hassanal Bolkiah, granted the request of President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo to commute the death sentence of a Filipino worker convicted of murder in the oil-rich sultanate, an official of the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said.
