Baby DNA database 'too useful to ditch'
A database of a baby's DNA could save lives and should not be ditched over fears of a "big brother state", a health lobby group says. More than 2 million DNA samples are stored indefinitely with the National Screening Unit after being taken from babies through a heel-prick test.
