Belgrade marks the 64th anniversary of its liberation from German occupation in World War 2. The city was liberated in joint operation by the People’s Liberation Army and a Red Army unit on October 20, 1944, led by Generals Peko Dapčević and Vladimir Zhdanov respectively.
