Fireworks injuries decline in Indiana

Hoosier injuries from fireworks have declined from last year, according to the State Department of Health. As of August 12, there were 141 fireworks-related injuries and one death reported to the agency, according a news release. About three-fourths (111) of those injuries happened between June 30 and July 6. Sixty-five percent of the fireworks injuries were burns, mostly to the fingers and hands said Dr. Joan Duwve, medical director for injury prevention at the health department. However, e
