On October 27, 2012, social media agency, fishbat, Inc., released a statement following the conclusion of the 2012 Presidential Debates, evaluating the performance of both candidate Mitt Romney and President Barack Obama.

According to fishbat, Inc. COO, Scott Darrohn, the Obama campaign’s social media efforts have a lead over that of the Romney campaign if only because of momentum gained dating back to the 2008 election and continued through his first term as president. The COO of the online marketing company states that Romney is at a “slight disadvantage” but also praises his campaign’s use of Facebook ad placement.

Still, Darrohn believes that both political parties could be doing more and would advise both campaigns to be more personal. “It’s imperative that if you’re using social media platforms that your content is engaging.”

For more evaluation of the social media performance of both presidential candidates, view the most recent edition of fishbat’s video press release series, fishbat Splash, hosted by Darrohn.
