ExactRail Celebrates Oktoberfest with Discounted Pricing on Two Popular Model Railroad Cars

ExactRail, a company that specializes in authentically detailed model railroad products is celebrating Bavarian culture this month with Oktoberfest specials on two of the company’s most popular cars. The HO-scale PC&F Beer Car and the N-scale Evans 5277 Box Car are being offered at a discounted price throughout the month of October.

“These are two favorites among our customers and we are excited to offer them at a special price this month in celebration of Oktoberfest,” said Blaine Hadfield, product vice president for ExactRail. “All of ExactRail’s cars have truly authentic features that set them apart from anything else being offered on the market today.”

With almost 7 million liters of beer served during Oktoberfest in Munich, Germany as part of the annual extravaganza, the discounted PC&F Beer Car is a fitting tribute to the festival for model railroaders looking to add a new car this month.

Pacific Car and Foundry began producing these box cars back in 1977. The heavily insulated cars are designed to carry perishable freight and were given the name “Beer Cars,” because that is what they often carry. Features include internal, air-bag loading devices and a sliding-sill underframe. The car is available in four different paint schemes including a weathered version with assorted road numbers. The HO-scale car usually sells for $34.95, but during the month of October ExactRail is selling it for $27.95.

The Evans 5277 box car is one of the most common box cars seen today. Stanray X-panel overhanging roof and riveted car sides near the end posts.

ExactRail is the first company to create the Evans 5277 plate C boxcar. The N-scale car usually sells for $22.95, but is being sold this month at the discounted price of $16.95. The car is available in six different paint schemes and has authentic features including a fully detailed underframe.

Aside from assembly and packaging, ExactRail produces all of its products in the United States. The design, engineering and injection molding is all done in-house in Utah. All of the cars are precision micro-tooled to offer the highest level of detail to model railroad enthusiasts.
