King County Judge-elect dies at 53

A Seattle attorney who was elected to serve as a King County Superior Court Judge has died...Presiding Judge Richard McDermott confirmed to The Seattle Times ( http://is.gd/qBlGEF ) that Scott Johnson died. Johnson's colleague at Stokes Lawrence law firm, Carolyn Cairns, said Johnson died early Saturday of a heart attack while on business in Yakima...McDermott called it "a tragic loss for his family and for the court." The judge said Johnson was "a very successful lawyer who decided he wanted to apply his talents and experience to helping people by being a judge." Johnson was a trial lawyer specializing in trust and estate work, intellectual property and general commercial litigation. ---
