A few days ago the liberal media was all abuzz over howsupposedly muscled his way into back of a soup kitchen in Ohio and started washing already-cleaned pots and pans as a photo op. It turned out later, however, that soup kitchen staffers had left some dirty pots and pans for Ryan to wash . Yes, it was part of a campaign photo-op, but the pots and pans were actually dirty and Ryan actually cleaned them. First Read" blog noted the crucial update to the tempest-in-a-teapot on Tuesday...In his "Political Sideshow" segment halfway through the October 18 program, Matthews gleefully recounted a gaffe of Paul Ryan's Wednesday involving Cleveland Browns backup quarterback Colt McCoy. Ryan mistook McCoy for the Browns' starting QB Brandon Weeden. "A swing and a miss for Ryan," Matthews exulted, adding that "by the way, the other day [Ryan] was saying he was washing pots and pans that were already clean." "He's making a lot of mistakes. He's getting closer to Daffy Duck out there," Matthews concluded. Of course, Matthews, you may recall, has a penchant for not being up to speed on current events. In January, Matthews confessed he had never heard of the congressional insider trading scandal until President Obama mentioned it in his State of the Union address. This is also the same guy who apparently still stubbornly believes that Scooter Libby was the leaker in the Valerie Plame case , although the media have long-since learned that it was Richard Armitage, who was a Bush/Cheney critic, a harsh critic of the war in Iraq, not a champion thereof. As my colleague Noel Sheppard pointed out, Matthews also ignorantly insists that "no one" sells health insurance to senior citizens, when in fact, there are many companies that sell it .
