Consumers have a lot of options to choose from when it comes to home appliances...Now, consumers can access the Web and manage groceries, wash cycles, cook times, and more directly from the appliance. Protect Your Bubble takes a look into these “smart,” new appliances.
Refrigerator – LG has launched a new, “smart” line that take appliances to a whole new level. The LG Smart Refrigerator is much more than just a refrigerator. It's a "total food management system" that performs many functions for the on-the-go consumer. Among other functions, the refrigerator gives consumers access to online shopping, manages a grocery list, calendars, and photos. In addition, users are able to log their groceries into the system by scanning each item so the appliance can track the freshness of foods. Washing machine – Samsung has joined the movement and released a smart washer. The WF457 Front-Loading Washer uses wi-fi and boasts a "Smart Control System." Features of this appliance include smartphone alerts to update consumers that the wash load is complete. If that was not impressive enough, this washing machine enables consumers to control their wash cycles even while away, including restart or pause controls. (Source: DigitalJournal.com)
Dishwasher – Dishwashing has come a long way from washing dishing each dish by hand. Siemens Zeolith can prove it with the dehumidifying dishwasher. Zeolites, moisture-absorbing minerals, heat up during the wash cycle and release heat that they’ve stored to absorb moisture from within. This energy-saving machine also stores the Zeolites for the next wash. (Source: TrendHunter.com)
Oven – LG is at it again with the LG Smart Oven. The hi-tech appliance allows consumers to download cooking instructions and sends alerts to a smartphone when it’s done. Cooking time information can also be sent directly to the oven itself. There is also an auto-cooking function for added convenience. This Thanksgiving, consumers can spend more time with the family, and less time worrying about that turkey. (Source: Examiner.com)
